Epistola praesidis

Salvete Omnes!

Already April and QUIRINUS second English issue!

After a few hesitations, Quirites Association has finally decided to bring you, reader, in this first year, five issues instead of four!

Before the third issue, scheduled in June 21st for the summer solstice, this second one is significant.

It is, first, because it is more dense than the January issue: it nearly doubles its number of pages. Then because this issue comes out at the same time of two major events for Quirites Association: the association has been officially recognized by the French republic ‘Journal officiel’ and it has now a web site that you can explore (in French, for the moment) at http://www.quirites.org.

QUIRINUS, this month, also proposes to you more varied articles, an archeological news column as well as synthetic ‘papers’ (see the table of the Civil institutions in ancient Rome),

or even more specialized articles, such as the one on ‘The dowry’. As in January, we have chosen to lighten our articles of most of the references or bibliography notes, in order to make their reading easier. This point, naturally, may be reexamined.

A few new columns appear in this issue, specially the ones devoted to the portrait and to the interview of one member of the international NGO Nova Roma. To inaugurate both chapters whose you will, reader, see yourself the interest, we had to meet a passionated person, motivated at the same time by modesty, involvement and work. You will find him in the American James Matthews, alias Marcus Minucius Audens, who, at the autumn of his life, has, moreover, accepted to honor us joining QUIRINUS editorial staff.

Have a pleasant reading, you, dear reader of this QUIRINUS March-April 2007 issue!"
