The end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007 have been rich in major events. On 23th November 2006, P Memmius Albucius has in effect been appointed propraetor of Gallia by the Senate, by a unanimous and unprecedented decision in the history of the province.

The first provincial decisions have been taken a short time after, such as the modification of the organisation of Gallia province (Edict 59-37) or the designation of a legate for Celtica region (Edict 59-38).

But annual novaroman elections have also honored Gallia, since our governor has been elected questor close to curule aedile Iulia Cytheris Aege.

Last, prepared by meetings on 7th and 8th December 2006 with Rutilius et Iulius, the first meeting in 2007 of Gallia propretorian council took place in Lutetia (Paris) on Fr. 26th Jan. evening. This council is now composed by P Memmius Albucius, praefectus Sextus Apollonius Scipio and legate Lucius Rutilius Minervalis.

This session has strongly affirmed not only the will, which has never been lost despite the past difficulties, to give back life, at last, to this wonderful province, but also an imagination and an ambition that are also necessary, specially for the great projects launched on the evening.

The next physical gathering of this Council will occur on 23th Feb. 2007, again in Lutetia, and will be prepared by an internet intermediate meeting. Friends all over the world, and Gallia citizens, the darkness is clearing away!
